Jacques Hondelatte (1942-2002) was a French architect who made a great impact on his generation. Little known to the general public, and mainly published through specialised journals, his works remain influential yet outside the paradigm of his peers Jean Nouvel and Rudy Riccioti, as well as his student and collaborator Lacaton-Vassal. At the Ecole d'Architecture of Bordeaux he was a professor and considered a ‘guru without dogma' according to Frédéric Druot.
Jacques Hondelatte des Grate-ciel dans la Tête was published in 2002 by Norma Editions just after his death. The 480-page spread is the most comprehensive study of his career and includes imagery and writing on all his major projects.
